Christian Parenting

Every child needs love, training and affirmation.  Children are very precious.  They belong to God.  God has given instructions as to how He wants them raised.  As custodians, parents, guardians and carers have a serious responsibility to bring them up God’s way - not our way or the world’s way.

This course aims to equip parents and guardians to fulfil their responsibilities towards the children in their care.

Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it.”     Proverbs 22:6

Key words and phrases:

Train:  Training must have clear goals, otherwise it will be haphazard and will not achieve the desired results.

…..the way he should go:  There is the general path of discipleship for every Christian.  There is also, in addition, God’s unique plan for each person.  These must be taken into account in raising Christian children.

…..when he is old:  Ideally, training should start as soon as a child is born.  The older he/she is at the start of training the more difficult it is.  However, training is ‘better late than never’.  There is always hope with God.

Aim:

To raise each child to be a disciple of our Lord Jesus:  “….children who believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient.”
