Churches in homes

Everyone needs to be part of a caring community.

Churches in homes are the ideal and Biblical way in which we can enjoy community, build friendships and have fun. Churches in homes are small groups that meet midweek in people's homes. In line with the motto of King’s Church, the groups aim to fulfil the commandments to love God and to love people.  "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind" and "Love your neighbour as yourself" (Matthew 22:36-40).  Adhering to the God-given vision of the Church, the groups are committed to prayer and helping people to become disciples of our Lord Jesus.  "Go and make disciples of all nations... teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." (Matt 28:18-20).

In Churches in homes seekers can ask questions and spiritual gifts can be developed.  It is a context in which people can form genuine deep relationships.  There is a focus on the application of the Word of God in order to equip people to fulfil their potential.  It is a place where everyone can get involved, grow and develop.  Children are welcome and do take part in the activities.

Informal fellowship over tea/coffee/hot chocolate and biscuits is enjoyed by all.

Churches in homes exist not just for the current members but are the primary means of reaching out with the gospel of Jesus Christ and effectively adding people to the Church. Churches in homes are expected to grow and multiply, and are therefore the place where people can grow in leadership skills and new leaders can be raised up.

Currently there are churches in homes in Dartford, Orpington, St Paul’s Cray and St Mary Cray.

We can put you in touch with a church-in-the-home leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.  Go along and try it out!
